Rider Education and Safety

I'm Linda Carlyle, a certified Master Tour Rider that has logged a 100,000 Safe Miles since I started riding back in 1992. My rides have been a restored 78 Goldwing, a 90 FLHTC, a 97 Honda Valkyrie and currently an 05 black cherry Goldwing. Why am I telling you this? Because I'm the Chapter Educator for W!

The Rider Education division of GWRRA stands by the motto..."Safety is for Life" and our mission is "To Save Lives Through Quality, World Class Education."

At the Chapter level, you'll notice that there is a safety-related article in each newsletter, and at our monthly gatherings, there's a short safety talk. You'll hear about the Rider Education"Levels" program, which each rider and co-rider is encouraged to participate in. Periodically, we'll offer a hands-on learning day like Medic-First Aid training, or a parking lot practice.

There are also opportunities for you to take part in seminars on topics like"Team Riding", "Road Captains Course"; "Co-Rider Seminar"; "Trike Seminar" to name a few.

Hand-in-hand with motorcycle rider education comes "Motorist Awareness" for the 4-wheeled folks. The national office has a division set up for that too and it aims teach the general public about "Sharing the Road."

Check out the national Rider Ed website for more details or feel free to contact me!
